About Cindy

Cindy Weiner grew up in Rochester, NY. After attending college in Boston, Weiner returned to Rochester where she began a retail career that ended in 1979 when she discovered Radio. Starting as an Account Executive, Weiner was quickly promoted to Sales Manager and eventually General Manager.
In 1987, Cindy left Rochester for Albuquerque and became the GM of a two station cluster. Weiner was transferred to Las Vegas where she coordinated a start up cluster of 5 stations and became the Market Manager. In 2000, Clear Channel recruited her back to Albuquerque as Regional Manager overseeing Albuquerque, Gallup, Farmington and Santa Fe. In 2004, Entercom Radio hired Ms. Weiner as the VP/Market Manager position, responsible for eight radio stations and 200+ employees in Kansas City.
Cindy left Entercom at the end of 2006 to join Broadcast Marketing Group as General Manager and partner. Broadcast Marketing Group specialized in buying media exclusively for Radio stations across the country. In 2009, Cindy started her own Coaching and Consulting business. Weiner is a certified Career Coach and her business, Centric Coaching and Consulting, focuses on coaching people in career transition. Cindy is also a partner in Broadcast Resource Group, a venture that provides business and management solutions to Broadcasters and investors who are struggling and need outside consultants. In February -2010, Cindy joined KC Magazine and KC Home Design as their Advertising Director. The publications are the premium lifestyle magazines in Kansas City.
Cindy has been named one of Radio’s Most Influential Women, five years in a row. Cindy was named General Manager of The Year by Clear Channel and Market Manager of the Year by The Radio Advertising Bureau. Ms. Weiner has been active with many organizations and currently serves on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City, Chairs the Marketing Committee and is a past Board member for The Women’s Employment Network. She has chaired the Kansas Women’s Business Center Women of Influence Dinner and The Boys and Girl’s Club Annual Kid’s Night Out.
Her definition of success is taken from a poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson…”To earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others”, and she truly lives by those words.
