My name is Bill Denison and as a certified life coach I help men
and women energize the conversation of their life.
Identify and achieve your goals in the areas of health, career, or relationships.
Working one-on-one and in groups, I help men and women claim and own their power.
This enables them to lead more fulfilling lives and pursue their ambitions
in alignment with their deepest values and truth.
In 1991 I became involved with the men’s movement through the ManKind Project (MKP).
MKP empowers men to make a difference in the lives of others.
In the decades that followed I participated in numerous programs
and training sessions and eventually became a leader in men’s groups.
In 2006 I began working as a facilitator with the Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) in Maryland.
AVP empowers people to lead nonviolent lives through affirmation, mutual respect,
community building, cooperation and trust.
I launched Centric Coaching in 2015 as my full-time pursuit,
dedicated to empowering others through Shadow Work® coaching.
For years, as a professional photographer, my job was to discover
the underlying balance in my compositions.
I learned it takes both shadow and light to manifest wholeness and truth.
Likewise, in my coaching practice, clients learn to embrace both the "shadow" and "light" of their own personalities.
In doing so, they experience more personal contentment and new energy to pursue their goals.
About My Practice
Using a coaching modality, based on the thinking of Carl Jung, called Shadow Work®, I help my clients
shine a light on previously hidden facets of themselves, most often fears or ineffective behaviors.
With greater self-awareness, clients learn to embrace their personal shadows thereby changing behaviors, breaking through self-imposed walls and operating from a place of strength.
I too have walked the road of fear and self-doubt and have experienced the clarity and healing
that comes from self-exploration.
Working with a coach, I learned that the more acceptance I feel for myself and my situation
the greater the potential for positive life changes.
"Bill helped me see that some decisions I had made in the past had served me well in that time and place.
This helped me put a new perspective on that part of my past and feel better about taking a new direction
as my circumstances have changed. He was thoughtful and gentle while asking probing questions and
helped me find my own truth. My work with Bill allowed me to see the value of past commitments in my life
and to take on a new commitment: marriage. I proposed, and we are getting married this fall!" MB
"In just one two hour session, I was surprised by the depth and possibilities of Shadow Work. I came out of the session feeling a little freer, with a sense of new perspective and energy. Bill was a great coach,
compassionate, easy to trust, and deft at working with me at my own chosen level.
What happened was both fun and enlightening." JP
"Bill is skillful and directive in his guidance while remaining gentle and respectful. I found this modality
helpful in gaining insights into underlying personality, character traits and motivations.
This self awareness opened up the possibility of change and the insights gained were profound." GR
"Bill helped me find the source of my "anger issues", to acknowledge their deep roots and deal with
them in a creative and integrative way. He listened to my story with undivided attention, giving me
objective feedback and guiding me encouragingly and safely across the abyss to the land of my shadow.
His style is professional and at the same time intuitive and warm.I felt supported throughout my journey
even during the moments when I literally “checked out” and did not want to go further.
I am immeasurably grateful for his help on my quest to find my true Self." PH
The world of personal exploration is infinite, as are the resources. Explore these resources to begin your own journey into a deeper understanding of the thought provoking ideas from which Shadow Work® draws inspiration.
Delve into the writings of prominent psychologists, thinkers and poets.
Some basic Shadow Work® concepts are accessible in the audio files below.
The first discusses what we mean by the "shadow". The next few speak about what beliefs we bring to this work
and how we build a safe container for the work.
The remaining ones outline the four quarter model we use and the attributes ascribed to each one.
So, you have something you want to change or achieve in your life.
The steps to success are the same...
1. Get clear.
Create a crystal clear vision so you know exactly what you want, where you're headed, and what you need to do to make it happen.
2. Get direction.
Uncover hidden challenges that stand in you way so you can address them
and freely choose a new path.
3. Get going.
Leave the session renewed, re-energized, and inspired.
You will see yourself with more awareness and consciousness.
From that place, you will make informed choices and decisions.
